I know you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Whatever traditions you have and enjoy, I say keep them going forever.
One of my favorite things to do Thanksgiving is go to McDonalds and have an Egg McMuffin. Just kidding. Wanted to see if you were paying attention. It is really playing stickball at 9 am. The annual Joltin-Joe Thanksgiving Stickball Classicwas an event that brings joy to many. We had 18 people play this year. Fathers-sons, adults and children.
We had a cast of characters playing . Check out… Continue reading
I still do not know why people feel that as we age, we must break down. Who ever said that you must take medicine, pack on the pounds and get ready for the nursing home. In many countries, they honor the wisdom of the older people. We like to put them out to pasture. Out with the old and in with the new. As an athlete myself, I hear from people who tell me that I can not play Baseball forever. I have been playing since 1979 and retirement is not… Continue reading
If we wish to sustain health and well being, the food we choose must provide our bodies with adequate nutrients vitamins, minerals, fiber , and micronutrients. June is here and a lot is going on. I just finished playing a weekend baseball Tournament in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
Lots of fun but 2 games a day was a bit difficult. It was all about ice, drinking water, aqua jogging and cleansing to recover.
I found that besides competing, I enjoyed doing Play by play announcing in the games I did not participate in. It was great.
Back to health. Now that summer is staring to hit, please, please drink lots of water, no Gatorade, no powerade,… Continue reading

This past Saturday was quite a day. As you know, I live life on my terms and enjoy experiences of all kinds.
One is playing and being around the game of baseball. Last June I read about the number draft choice in Baseball named Bryce Harper, a 17 year old kid who could hit 500 foot home runs. I was intrigued and knew I would figure a way to see him play. This past Saturday he was playing in a minor league game in Lakewood, New Jersey at the same… Continue reading
In life we remember where we were when life changing situations happen.
This past Sunday I received a phone call that brought tears to my eyes.
After years of research, exams and a dissertation, at approximately 5:15 pm EST, while eating a salad, My cell phone rang. I had a voice mail that said the following.
Congratulations on the approval of your dissertation!
Your research, development of the premises and study, and presentation of the results and findings, are excellent. Your work presents an important perspective on the effects of… Continue reading
In today’s complicated world, Parents tell me that they want a better life for their children than themselves. It makes sense but the issue is what is one’s definition of better.
*A bigger house to grow up in
*A better education
What I almost never hear is what I can do so my children are healthier and have less chance for sickness and illness.
As a recovering school teacher, I know our kids have many more issues than we did 20-30 years ago.
They are more obese, diseased… Continue reading
