Sabra Brock

Sabra Brock Sabra Brock is President of The Training Advantage which specializes in designing and delivering training to foster innovation in organizations manage diverse workforces and facilitate change management. She has trained people on five continents in organizations as diverse as large insurance companies and entrepreneurial businesses.

Sabra is currently researching what fosters transformational learning as part of a Ph.D. dissertation in Business Education at New York University. Her book on managing gender differences was published in 2004 called Men Head East Women Turn Right How to Meet in the Middle When Facing Change. She draws on her extensive U.S. and international corporate training and marketing experience including 12 years as a vice president at Citibank in the U.S. and Hong Kong. She was also a manager in Human Resources at Colgate-Palmolive for 3 years and created communications training for over 1000 managers in 60 countries. Both these programs received “You Can Make a Difference” Awards from the CEO.

Academic experience includes: Adjunct Instructor in Management at The Stern School of Business at New York University Instructor in Information Management and Career Management at The Mountbatten Institute Post Graduate Lecturer in Marketing at Hong Kong University and Lecturer in Marketing of Nonprofit Organizations at New York University. She lived in Hong Kong several years while marketing Citicorp Travelers Checks across Asia and developed successful campaigns for Hong Kong PRC and Malaysia in both Chinese and English.

Sabra has published several articles in the American Marketing Association Journal including a cover story. She recently spoke on her experiences using technology to teach in a multi-cultural environment at the National Association of Business Teacher Educators in Chicago and at the Office Systems Research Association convention in Las Vegas she has also presented to conferences in New York Boston and Brussels. She was a contributor to The Best of the Best: The AMA Trainers’ Activity Book published by the American Management Association in last May.

She began her career in marketing research with General Foods and Young & Rubicam. She holds an M.S. degree in Advertising from Northwestern University a B.A. in English and Psychology from West Virginia University and will be awarded a Ph.D. in Business Education from New York University May 8 2007. She is certified on MBTI and the KAI Change Style Indicator.

Sabra founded and was first president of the Marketing Research Society of Hong Kong. She is a member of the National Arts Club the Global Business Association American Society for Training and Development and the National Association of Female Executives. She studies acting with Arthur Reel and voice with Jeffrey Jacobi. In her spare time she co-hosts a global weekly radio show on improving relationships between men and women.
